Can you believe that it is already going to be December on Saturday? That seems crazy! With Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday already under our belts, this holiday season is in full swing! I am kicking things off early this year with my first Holiday Party this evening – cheers to that! For those of you who don’t know, outside of the blog, I work part-time for Stitch Fix as a stylist and we are having our annual holiday party this evening with the theme “Plaid and Glam” – hence, the inspiration for todays post!
No one does plaid better than a true Minnesotan (let’s all channel our inner Paul Bunyan – ha!), which is why I’m grabbing my plaids and adding a little glam to this classic everyday staple piece to create a holiday look that is the perfect balance between dressy and casual.
With plaid being the focus of todays look, my starting piece was this plaid blazer that I am currently renting from RTR (I’ve linked similar styles to shop the look). Instead of going with a classic button-up, I thought that the blazer would be a chic option to add a dressier touch to this otherwise casual holiday style. Next up, I’ve styled this blazer with my all time FAVE leather pants and a lace trim cami. Last but not least, to really spice up the look, I mixed in some leopard prints to complete this holiday outfit. Leopard has been one of my favorite trends this season and there’s every reason to that! It’s such a versatile print that adds the extra “pop” to your favorite styles.
Style Tip: If you’re really looking to go the extra mile, style your favoerite plaid piece with a little bit of sparkle! For example, another wait to pair this plaid blazer would be to throw it on over a gold or silver sequin dress for a statement, glamorous style! Another option, is to take your favorite flannel and tuck it into a sequin skirt or sequin leggings. So many fun options!
Do you prefer to go casual or dress up for the holiday season? I am all about dressing up, but don’t mind throwing in a balance of both every one in a while.
I hope you enjoyed the first taste of this seasons holiday outfit inspo because there is SO much more to come – stay tuned!
xx, Jozy
