My goodness you guys, I can’t believe Blonde & Bliss has turned one so soon! I feel like a mother who’s been watching her baby grow up and my word, it’s gone too fast! A year ago on this date, I was home for Christmas break, sitting upstairs in my room at my parents house in Grand Forks, ND, shaking near to death as I unlocked my site and made it public, posting to my personal Facebook and announcing the launch of Blonde and Bliss. I was full of emotions, ecstatic to finally be sharing what I’d spent months working on “behind the blog” yet also terrified for the reaction I was about to receive. Up until this point, I’d never been one to really share my thoughts. My entire life I’d been the more reserved “shy” girl and launching this blog was a huge step.
Ever since the launch of B & B, I have stepped out of my comfort zone more than I ever had before, put myself in situations where the dreaded “no” was likely my answer, and taken leaps without any direction. I have learned so much from this process and realized the amount of effort and motivation it takes to run a blog. Let me tell you… it’s like a whole separate full-time job!
While there’s definitely been moments of pressure where I’d felt like giving up I can say with certainty that in the end, every bit of stress, tears, late-nights and hours spent working on content, is 110% worth it and I wouldn’t give up what I’ve created here for anything. Blonde and Bliss has exceeded my expectations in less than a year and has become a dream I never thought would be my own. I am so incredibly thankful for everything this blog has led me to and for each and every person it’s allowed me to meet in the process. It has introduced me to an amazing community that I never want to leave.
As we go into 2018 and a new year with Blonde and Bliss, I am excited to be working on new content, brainstorming ideas for future collaborations, and setting new goals to achieve this year! I am so happy to be doing what I love and having the incredible support system of you all right here with me.
Cheers to a new year full of excitement and opportunity – I can’t wait to see where B & B will go!
P.S. I want to hear from you! If you have any suggestions for content in this new year/things you want to see more (or less) of, send any feedback my way at firstname.lastname@example.org
