Cheers to December everyone! The holiday season is in full swing with the countdown to Christmas (anyone else have those little countdown boxes with the chocolates inside?) ticking away. I don’t know about you but I am so crazy excited to be out shopping for gifts, baking goodies and attending all the festivities.
This past week I had the opportunity to attend the Strategic Socials Winter Bash at the newly opened Hutton House venue on Medicine Lake, and let me tell you… it was gorgeous.
The venue was spacious and filled with bloggers and creatives from all over the Twin Cities. It was a fabulous evening of networking and even better food + wine, courtesy of several fantastic restaurants! Each table had been decorated by different designers throughout the area and on top of that, each table was served a different meal crafted by differents chefs. The stunning table I sat at, was served by Bait & Hook. We enjoyed a delicious meal of Hawaiian Style Mahi-Mahi with shrimp, potatoes, and asparagus. I was weary at first, as I’ve never been one for seafood, but this meal totally changed my taste buds on that. Every single bite was so satisfying, I could eat that whole meal all over again! I’ll admit that starting this site just about a year ago, I never thought I’d be attending such a wonderful event – thank you Strategic Socials!
But getting back into all things style, I’m sharing a look that is perfect for all the festive events in the upcoming weeks that will have you decked to the halls in holiday style.
This blushing look combines my favorite color trend; pink, mauve and maroon. While I would normally associate this look with valentine’s, something about it has got me in the holiday spirit. Besides wanting an excuse to wear these suede shoes, I pieced together a trendy 70’s inspired sweater with a classic pleated skirt from Who What Wear to create a timeless look that is cheery and bright.
I kept the details sweet and simple which is something to keep in mind whenever you’re working with prints. I was wishing I had found a sleek waist belt to go around the waist, but it works both ways. Adding a felt hat is always one of my go-to’s for winter style, and don’t worry, you’re hair won’t suffer.
You could wear this look to those office parties, couples gatherings, cocktails with the girls, or on a date night with your man. It’s classy and modest, yet classic and stylish, just like the holidays, it’s a timeless look.
