Wandering around the streets of London is quite a dream, every turn and corner leads you to yet another stunning sight, but when you find yourself staring the cutest, pinkest, and tastiest little cupcake shop straight on, that’s when you know you’ve found a hidden gem.
Peggy Porschen’s is a London staple – it’s said to be to London what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris (sorry Big Ben), and it’s no wonder why! One of my favorite things about London is the colorful homes. Here, if you want a pink house – so be it! Ladies, can we agree this is a dream come true?
From a distance, I could see this adorable little shop peeking out around the corner with it’s bright pink exterior and fabulous florals, needless to say, it pulled me right in. While the outside may be something to drool over, what’s kept inside is so much more indulging…
The moment you walk through the doors to PP, you’re greeted with the sweet aroma of fresh cupcakes baking and hot espresso brewing. One deep inhale and you feel as though you’ve gone to heaven – cupcake heaven that is.
Indecisive me, didn’t know where to begin! Endless options of perfectly frosted cupcakes and evenly sliced pieces of cake lined the interior of the glass display case, just waiting to be photographed by instgrammers galore.
Debating between a chocolatey salted caramel cupcake for the chocoholic in me and a pretty pink strawberry champagne cupcake – I decided to go with the second choice, because after all, at Peggy’s, you never say no to pink.
After purchasing my (rather pricey) cupcake, I stepped outside to take a seat where two kind women, who noticed I was alone, asked me to join them for afternoon tea and cakes. Traveling alone is quite the experience, but part of the fun is expanding your horizons and talking to new people and hearing their story – something you don’t really do when you’re with a group. These two women were so sweet and we had a great time making small talk and sharing our love for London over delicious cakes and sips.
For those traveling to London, I highly suggest a stop to Peggy Porschen’s Cakes (just a quick walk off the Victoria station) – your tastebuds (& insta-feed) will thank you.
