Sunny skies and warmer temps have got me feeling a little flirty springing forward into summer and this dress is the perfect piece to set the mood for picnics in the park, breakfast dates and sunrise walks with that special someone.
Speaking of dates, instead of a how-to-wear on this fun little sundress i’ve decided to feature some of my favorite date ideas in Minneapolis! Cause let’s be honest, the best accessory for this dress is a bright smile and that special someone by your side. So what are you waiting for, grab your S.O. (or your bestie) and set off for an adventurous date night!
St. Anthony Falls
Wander around the picturesque St. Anthony Falls, take a romantic stroll across the landmark Stone Arch Bridge, which has some of the coolest views of the city (would make an awesome insta pic!), and perhaps stop at Aster Cafe for a yummy brunch for two (voted best first date spot in MSP!)
The Observatory Deck
Gaze out over the city lights and get some of the best views of the city from the Foshay Observatory Deck (an adorable photo opp!) and only $10 /person!
Como Zoo Conservatory
Escape into nature at Como Park Conservatory. With over 5 different greenhouses, the conservatory makes for a perfect little refresher when you’ve hit the winter blues.
Waterpark of America
Release your inner wild side and slip and slide through this 70,000 square foot indoor waterpark! With a ten story high water slide, surfing slope, and lazy river you certainly won’t be bored, so go ahead, soak up all the fun!
Apple Orchard
Apples, hayrides and warm cider galore, with over 10 apple orchards within the area a stop at an apple orchard should definitely be on your fall bucket-list for a great date!
Cave Tours
Go down under and explore the hidden caves beneath the city on a guided historical tour for as little as $8!
Explore the Museums
A quick little history lesson never hurt anyone, am I right? With nearly 20 museums to chose from, a journey back in time has never been so easy!
Visit Uptown
Spend an afternoon strolling the streets of Uptown! With several local shops, delicious eats (including the famous Glam Doll Doughnuts!), and tasty coffee hideouts, Uptown truly has it all for a perfect date-day escape.
Work it Out
Get your sweat on together at one of Minneapolis’s several unique training facilities! Spin away to the upbeat tunes at the CycleBar in Uptown (first time riders ride for free!) or face your fear of heights and get climbing at the Vertical Endeavors rock wall!
Picnic at Minnehaha Falls
Pack up some goodies and head over to Minnehaha Falls for an afternoon of relaxing. Enjoy a riverside picnic, check out the stunning waterfall, hike the trails, and even enjoy a little carriage ride along the promenade.
Dinner & Bowling at The Nook
Enjoy a casual American fare dinner and lace up (or velcro) your shoes for a game of bowling while your at it. This cute little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is an adorable casual date-night venue with cheap eats and a unique atmosphere!
Movie Night
“Netflix & Chill” no more and head on over to the classic 1950’s Riverview Theatre to catch one of the latest blockbusters for as little as $3!
Put n’ Ride
Arnold Palmer meets Betty Danger at Betty Dangers Country Club! A well-hidden local gem located in Northern Minneapolis, Betty Danger’s Country Club offers Mexican American eats and plenty of fun with their 9 hole mini-golf course and ferris wheel! Did I mention you can dine ON the ferris wheel? Packages vary, but for those 21+ they offer drinks and views as you circle your way around the ferris wheel . . . some of the best views of downtown MSP!
Brunch, Sip n’ Sail
Cruise away on beautiful Lake Minnetonka with Paradise Charters. Offering a yummy brunch buffet and open bar, there’s no better way to wake up your morning than with a relaxing boat ride around the lake.
Start Screaming
. . . for the best in Ice Cream! With so many options to chose from in local creameries you really can’t go wrong when it comes to ice cream in Minneapolis. Izzy’s (Downtown Minneapolis), Milk Jam (Uptown), and Nelson’s (BIGGEST cones ever…. Stillwater) have won my heart in the ice cream category with their endless flavor options!
Farmers Market
Take a stroll along the Mississippi and perhaps make a stop at the Farmers Market located between the Guthrie and Mill City Museum! Sample some tasty treats, grab a coffee from the coffee truck and pick out some fresh flowers to brighten up your living spaces!
With so many options it’s time to get excited for some fun dates! Have some suggestions for hidden hot spots in the area? Comment below and share your favorite date night locations!
