Leather meets lace in this edgy but sweet combo combining two of my favorite fabrics for a Valentine’s outfit that’s irresistibly sassy n’ sweet.
If you don’t already own a leather jacket, I’m telling you now that you really should. Leather jackets are my go-to wardrobe staple for just about anything as they add just the right amount of “chic” to any outfit. Leather jackets are no longer built like boxes where they’re all stiff and uncomfortable, designers have majorly stepped up their leather jacket game and it’s time to get shopping if you haven’t already done so. With such a wide variety of colors and styles it’d be next to impossible not to find the perfect fit for you. Although the jacket featured in this post is from Old Navy, one of my absolute favorite places to shop leather goods is Wilson’s Leather Company at the outlets in Albertville as they constantly are having crazy good deals and offer a vast amount of merchandise to chose from – it’s worth a stop, I promise!
Looking at this white lace dress on the hanger you’d never think it could be worn in any other season besides late spring and early summer (let alone February in the chilly negative temps!) and I don’t blame you. I love lace but have to admit that it is one of the trickiest fabrics to work with and pull off. In this case, in order to take these summery whites into the winter chills I added a contrast of colors mixing the whites with darker hues, such as black and burgundy, for a warm mix of divergent pieces.
Whether you’re headed to a fancy dinner for two or a wine and desserts type of ordeal, this outfit has you covered with it’s perfect balance of freshly sleek style.
