My favorite way to express myself through clothing is with unique statements. My goal with every outfit is to include at least one piece that speaks loud, stands out and makes a statement for itself. Whether it’s a glitzy necklace, a high slit top, or details within the piece (hello fringe!), I always opt for peculiar pieces. And this fringe skirt you’re seeing here today meets those qualifications with flying colors as it’s natural nude hue, midi length and fabulous fringe work together to create the prime piece.
Reason A for loving this skirt is simple – it’s versatile. For those of you that have read my previous posts, you’ll notice that I speak very highly of pieces that can be worn in a countless number of ways, since after all, what’s the fun in wearing the same piece in the same way every. single. time? I’ll answer that for you by saying it’s not.
Part of having good “style” is having the ability to see pieces differently each and every time you pull them from your closet. When was the last time you looked in your wardrobe and saw that same shirt, still just hanging there (perhaps tags still on) beginning to collect the faintest little bit of dust since the last time you wore it was well…. that one time? Sway away from those “one time only” pieces and opt for those that are easily interchangeable with several other options to get the most out of both your wallet and wardrobe.
As if I haven’t talked up this skirt enough, can we all just take a second to admire how much fun this fringe is?! It’s a trend that’s been sneaking up on us for a while now, first appearing on the hems of sweaters and coats, further making it’s way to the bottoms of jeans and as we see now, skirts too. Incorporating pieces such as these is an exciting new way to spice up your style.
To be completely honest with you, when I first tried on this piece I was overwhelmed with confusion as to how on Earth I was going to wear and style this piece. Immediately my brain jumped to basic blacks (per usual) but the ladies at Pretty b. directed me otherwise and suggested denim. Brilliant. For whatever reason, lately I’ve had the tendency to overlook denim tops which clearly needs to change considering denim was the optimal choice for pairing with this skirt. Whether you opt for a denim jacket, classic button up, or top of other sorts as long as you stick to basic colors and prints you can’t go wrong.
Have you jumped on the fringe trend yet? If so, share your favorite fringe pieces in the comments below – I’d love to hear what you’ve been styling.
Thank you to Pretty b. for sponsoring this post.
